SVPNPA (Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy) is hiring 1 Chief Drill Instructor in Hyderabad on deputation basis for 3 years. SVPNPA Chief Drill Instructor Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

The Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA), under the Ministry of Home Affairs, has invited nominations for 1 post of Chief Drill Instructor at its Hyderabad campus. The post is General Central Service, Group 'A' Gazetted, Non-Ministerial. This is a deputation post — only serving officers from Central or State Government, autonomous bodies, statutory organisations, PSUs, Universities or recognised research institutions can apply. Direct candidates from outside government service are not eligible.

Who Can Apply?

You must be a serving officer in any of the following: Central Government, State Government, Union Territory Administration, autonomous bodies, statutory organisations, public sector undertakings, Universities or recognised research institutions.

Service Eligibility (any one):

• Holding an analogous post on regular basis in the parent cadre or department, OR
• 2 years regular service in Level-9 (Rs. 53,100-1,67,800), OR
• 4 years regular service in Level-8 (Rs. 47,600-1,51,100), OR
• 5 years regular service in Level-7 (Rs. 44,900-1,42,400) or equivalent

Essential Qualification & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree from a recognised University or institute
• 3 years experience as a Drill Instructor imparting training in a Central, State or UT Police Training Centre, autonomous body, statutory organisation, PSU, University or recognised research institution

Desirable:

• 1 year experience in planning, coordinating and conducting outdoor training activities

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 56 years as on the closing date of receipt of applications
• Total deputation period (including any earlier ex-cadre deputation in another organisation) must not exceed 3 years

Salary

• Pay: Level-10 in the Pay Matrix (Rs. 56,100 to Rs. 1,77,500 per month)
• DA, HRA and other allowances as per Central Government rules
• Deputation (Duty) Allowance as admissible under Central Government Orders

Selection Process

Selection is by deputation. There is no written exam.

1. Screening of nominations by SVPNPA based on eligibility criteria, ACRs and service record
2. Selection Committee review of shortlisted nominations
3. Cadre clearance and integrity certificate from the parent department
4. Final appointment order on deputation (initially 3 years)

1. Download the bio-data proforma (Annexure-II) from svpnpa.gov.in under the 'Vacancies' tab.
2. Fill in the bio-data and get it duly attested.
3. Attach attested copies of Annual Confidential Reports (ACRs) for the last 5 years (2020-21 to 2024-25).
4. Attach details of major and minor penalties for the last 10 years.
5. Attach Integrity, Vigilance and Cadre Clearance Certificates.

Important Dates

• Assist Assistant Director (Outdoor) in planning, coordinating and conducting outdoor training such as Physical Training, Drill, Firing, Weapons Handling, Field Craft, Tactics, Map Reading and Sand Model Briefing
• Help Assistant Director (Tactics) plan and run Tactics Courses for senior police officers
• Supervise the work of Drill Instructors, Assistant Drill Instructors and other support staff in the Outdoor Training Wing
• Act as master trainer for DIs and ADIs in Drill, Weapon Training, Field Craft, Tactics and Map Reading
• Organise demonstrations on Field Craft and Tactics for both Basic and In-Service Courses
• Upgrade outdoor training aids, methodologies and infrastructure with the latest practices
• Prepare case studies on operations against militants and extremists, and brief trainees using Sand Models
• Carry out periodic inspection of stores and articles related to outdoor training
