The Supreme Court of India has released a recruitment notification for 22 posts of Assistant Librarian, Assistant Editor (Supreme Court Reports), Assistant Director (SC Museum), and Senior Court Assistant (SC Museum). This is a re-advertisement of the earlier notification from July 2025. If you applied before, you do not need to apply again.

Vacancy Details (22 Posts)

Salary

• Assistant Editor: Pay Level 12 (Rs. 78,800 - Rs. 2,09,200 per month)
• Assistant Director: Pay Level 11 (Rs. 67,700 - Rs. 2,08,700 per month)
• Senior Court Assistant: Pay Level 8 (Rs. 47,600 - Rs. 1,51,100 per month)
• Assistant Librarian: Pay Level 8 (Rs. 47,600 - Rs. 1,51,100 per month)

Who Can Apply - Eligibility

Assistant Editor (SCR):

• Law degree from a recognised university
• At least 3 years of experience as an Advocate, in a Judicial role, Research, Law Reporter, or Lecturer
• Age: 30 to 40 years (as on 01.03.2026)

Assistant Director (SC Museum):

• M.A. in Museology with First Class
• At least 5 years of research experience
• Age: 30 to 40 years (as on 01.03.2026)

Senior Court Assistant (SC Museum):

• M.A. in Museology with 55% or more marks
• At least 2 years of research or relevant experience
• Age: Up to 35 years (as on 01.03.2026)

Assistant Librarian:

• Degree in Library Science
• Diploma in Computer Application
• At least 2 years of library experience
• Knowledge of Library Automation Software
• Age: Up to 30 years (as on 01.03.2026)

Application Fee

• General / OBC candidates: Rs. 1,500
• SC / ST / Ex-Servicemen / PwD candidates: Rs. 750
• Fee is to be paid separately for each post you apply for

Selection Process

• Assistant Editor: Written Test followed by Interview
• Assistant Director: Written Test followed by Computer Test (qualifying) followed by Interview
• Senior Court Assistant: Written Test followed by Computer Test (qualifying) followed by Interview
• Assistant Librarian: Written Test followed by Computer Test followed by Interview

Written test centres are in Delhi/NCR, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Chennai. Interview will be held in Delhi only.

• Assistant Librarian:
  • Manage and organise the Supreme Court library collection
  • Help judges and court staff find legal books, journals, and reference materials
  • Maintain digital and physical records of all library resources
  • Operate library automation software for cataloguing and circulation
• Assistant Editor (SCR):
  • Edit and prepare Supreme Court Reports for publication
  • Review and proofread legal judgments and case summaries
  • Write precis and headnotes for reported cases
• Assistant Director (SC Museum):
  • Plan and manage museum exhibits and displays related to the Supreme Court
  • Lead research projects on the history and heritage of the judiciary
  • Look after the preservation of museum artefacts and collections
• Senior Court Assistant (SC Museum):
  • Help the Assistant Director in managing museum activities
  • Maintain records and documentation of museum items
  • Assist in organising exhibitions and public programmes
