SETS Junior Research Fellow Recruitment 2026: Overview

Society for Electronic Transactions and Security (SETS) is recruiting Junior Research Fellows for a cybersecurity research and development project in Chennai. SETS works on information security, with research spanning cryptology and computing, hardware security, quantum security and network security. This is a project fellowship, with a requirement to be available full time at SETS.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Initial tenure: The fellowship begins with a two-year term. An extension depends on the project's needs and your performance, so you should not treat the initial appointment as an assurance of a longer engagement.
• Employment position: The fellowship offers no right to continued employment, regularisation or absorption. Keep this condition in mind when considering the role alongside other employment plans.
• Research environment: Selected fellows may be considered for Ph.D. study in SETS research areas. The notice names cryptology and computing security, hardware security, quantum security and network security; it does not promise admission to a doctoral programme.
• Publications: Research papers produced while you work at SETS must carry the appropriate SETS endorsement or acknowledgement and involve the SETS scientists in charge. This condition links your published project work to the organisation and its research team.
