Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB), an autonomous institution under the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, has released notification Advt. No. 20/Project/2026/HR for one Project Associate II position under Principal Investigator Dr. Prem S. Kaushal, Associate Professor. The project is titled "Exploring ribosome hibernation in Mycobacterium tuberculosis as a potential anti-tuberculosis drug target." This research looks at how the TB bacterium's ribosomes go dormant, which could open up new drug targets for treating tuberculosis. There is no written exam — selection is entirely through an interview conducted in hybrid mode. RCB is based at the NCR Biotech Science Cluster in Faridabad and also runs PhD and doctoral training programmes in biotechnology, making this a solid opportunity for experienced life science researchers.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You need an M.Sc. in Life Sciences with NET / DBT-JRF / GATE or an equivalent qualifying exam cleared, with a minimum of 60% marks in your Master's degree or equivalent.
• Experience: You need at least 2 years of R&D experience in industrial or academic institutions, or in scientific and technology organizations.
• Preferred Skills: Research experience in gene cloning, protein purification, ribosome purification, and cryo-electron microscopy will be an advantage. Good oral and written communication skills and a strong motivation for a research career are also preferred.

Age Limit

• You should be up to 34 years old as on 31 July 2026.

Salary

• You will get a fellowship of Rs. 42,000 per month plus 27% HRA during the project period.
• The initial project duration is one year.

Selection Process

The selection will be done in these stages:

1. Shortlisting: Shortlisted candidates will be informed by 27 July 2026 through email.
2. Interview (Hybrid Mode): Held from 10:00 AM onwards on 28 July 2026.

There is no written test for this position — your qualifications, experience, and interview performance decide the final selection.
