Service Conditions and Caveats

• Initial tenure: the engagement begins for six months and may be shortened or extended at the competent authority's discretion. You should treat the role as a time-bound institute assignment whose continuation depends on that decision.
• Contract status: the appointment is purely contractual and does not create a right to continuation or regular appointment. It remains separate from the Council's regular service cadre.
• Leave: the consultant can use up to twelve days of leave in a calendar year on a proportionate basis, so the available balance follows the actual period of engagement.
• Joining undertaking: the selected person must give an undertaking together with the joining report and complete the institute's joining formalities.
• Travel: no TA or DA is payable for attending the written test or interview, and you must arrange your own travel and stay in Gangtok.
• Selection authority: the committee may accept or reject an application, and the Assistant Director In-charge may postpone or cancel the test and interview.
• Work scope: the institute may ask the consultant to handle related work in addition to the regular assignment when needed. That makes flexibility across clinical, research, quality and reporting tasks important.
