RailTel ED/GGM/GM (Technical) Recruitment 2026

RailTel Corporation of India Limited (RCIL), a Navratna PSU under the Ministry of Railways, is inviting applications for 1 post of Executive Director/GGM/GM (Technical) on a deputation basis for its Western Region, Mumbai office. This post is open only to serving Group-A IRSSE (Indian Railway Service of Signal Engineers) officers who meet the required seniority. Selected officers will draw their parent grade pay plus deputation allowance as per rules.

RailTel Corporation of India Ltd (RCIL) Executive Director/GGM/GM (Technical) Deputation 2026 - 1 Post

RailTel is one of India's leading telecom infrastructure providers, built on the extensive optical fibre network of Indian Railways. It operates as a professionally managed Navratna enterprise under the Ministry of Railways, working to be a strategic technology partner delivering world-class telecom and ICT solutions across Indian Railways, government bodies and public sector enterprises. RailTel has now issued Vacancy Notice No. 14/2026 for one senior technical leadership post at its Western Region office in Mumbai. This is a deputation assignment for three years, or till RailTel is exempted from the immediate absorption rule, whichever comes earlier. Only serving Group-A IRSSE officers from Indian Railways are eligible. General Managers of all Railways/New Zones/Production Units, along with Director Generals of Railway Training Institutes and RDSO, have been asked to forward applications of eligible officers under their charge.

Who Can Apply?

For Executive Director (ED):

• Group-A IRSSE officer with 5 years in SAG (Level 14).

For Group General Manager (GGM):

• Group-A IRSSE officer in SAG (Level 14), or in Senior Grade/SG (Level 13) with 18 years of Group A service.

For General Manager (GM):

• Group-A IRSSE officer in Senior Grade/SG (Level 13).

All eligible SC/ST/OBC officers are encouraged to apply for this post. The exact designation you are offered — ED, GGM or GM — depends on which of these seniority conditions you meet.

Age Limit

• SAG-level officers should not exceed 58 years on the closing date of application.
• Officers below SAG level should not exceed 56 years on the closing date of application.
• Both your age and eligibility are reckoned as on the closing date of receipt of application, so make sure your documents reflect this cut-off correctly.

Salary

• Selected officers will draw their parent grade pay plus deputation allowance as per rules while posted to RailTel.
• RailTel's own executive grades at this level (E7-E9) range from Rs. 1,00,000 to Rs. 3,00,000 under the IDA pay structure, though deputationists continue on their parent department's pay with the applicable deputation allowance rather than RailTel's IDA scale.

Selection Process

Selection for this deputation post is based on your service record and eligibility documents, not a written exam or interview:

1. Screening of Biodata and APARs: Your Annual Performance Appraisal Reports for the last five years are reviewed.
2. Vigilance/DAR Clearance: A clearance certificate must be enclosed with your application.
3. Document Verification: Only complete applications with all required enclosures are considered; incomplete applications will not be entertained.

2. Fill in your biodata, indicating previous postings and details of any earlier deputations in Central PSUs, duly signed.
3. Attach Vigilance/DAR clearance and copies of your APARs for the last five years.
4. Apply through the proper channel — Zonal Railways should forward applications of eligible officers, while Indian Railway officers may forward applications through the Railway Board.

Applications received without the required enclosures will not be entertained, so make sure your biodata, clearance certificate and APARs are all attached before sending. Zonal Railways, New Zones and Production Units should forward biodata along with statements of previous deputations, duly signed by the applicant.
