Directorate of Forests and Wildlife (DF&WL) Consultant (Assistant) Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

The Department of Forests and Wildlife, Government of Puducherry has released Notification No. 3826/DF&WL/Estt./2026-27 to engage a retired government official as a Consultant to work at the Directorate of Forests and Wildlife, Puducherry. The Directorate functions under the Government of Puducherry and looks after the protection, conservation and management of forests and wildlife in the Union Territory. This vacancy is not open to fresh graduates or serving employees — only officials who have already retired from an Assistant or UDC post in the Government of Puducherry, with at least 5 years of relevant experience, can apply.

The engagement will initially run for 6 months on a full-time basis, and a consultancy fee will be paid as per the rules already in force with the Finance Department. The scheme is meant to bring in experienced hands who already know government office procedures, computer work, and the GeM (Government e-Marketplace) Portal used for departmental purchases. On selection, you will need to sign an agreement in the prescribed format, and the terms will follow the Finance Department's I.D. Note/Memo No. 46324/FD/F3/2014 dated 11 September 2014 and 1 December 2022.

Who Can Apply?

• Eligibility: You must be a retired Assistant or Upper Division Clerk (UDC) from the Government of Puducherry, with at least 5 years of experience in that post.
• Experience Required: You should be conversant with official government work, computer operations, and the GeM Portal.
• Who Should Not Apply: This engagement is only for retired Government of Puducherry officials. Serving employees, fresh graduates, and retirees from other state or central government departments are not eligible.

Age Limit

• Your age should not exceed 65 years at the time of engagement.

2. Fill in your personal details, date of birth, contact information, and government service particulars, including your date of retirement and last post held.
3. Attach a recent passport-size photograph and a copy of your Pension Payment Order (PPO).
4. Put the completed form in an envelope and write "APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF ASSISTANT CONSULTANT" on top.
5. Send the application by post to the Conservator of Forests, Directorate of Forests and Wildlife, Puducherry.
6. Make sure your application reaches the office on or before 28 August 2026.

• Follow government rules and procedures while handling office work
