PTU Registrar Recruitment 2026: Overview

Puducherry Technological University (PTU) is recruiting a Registrar for its campus at Pillaichavady, Puducherry. The state university, formerly Pondicherry Engineering College, has announced a tenure-based appointment under its university statutes and Ordinance-II. Your appointment would be governed by these provisions and the service terms approved for the Registrar.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: The appointment lasts three years. The recruitment notice says you return to your parent organisation when that tenure ends.
• Possible reappointment: Ordinance-II allows one further term with the approval of the Board of Governors. A further term needs that approval and is not automatic.
• Deputation provisions: The enclosed ordinance also sets out a deputation route for the Registrar. Its service period is three years, with the applicable conditions governed by the ordinance.
• Retirement scheme: If you come from another university, institution or organisation, the ordinance protects the retirement scheme already applicable to you while the relevant appointment or lien conditions continue.
• Leave and service rules: Leave follows the university's rules. The Board of Governors may prescribe further conditions for the tenure and service.
• Application completeness: PTU will not consider incomplete or late applications. Check the requirements for every submission route so that your application reaches the university in the prescribed form.

The online form and hard copy are both required. The university's official online application link leads to Google Forms and currently asks you to sign in. The soft copy must also be emailed to vcoffice@ptuniv.edu.in.
