OUAT Emeritus Professor Recruitment 2026: Overview

Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) is engaging Emeritus Professors in its constituent colleges in Bhubaneswar. The scheme brings retired academics back into teaching and research so students and current faculty can benefit from their experience. This is a time-bound academic engagement against vacant faculty positions, with work linked to the needs of the host department.

Posts and Disciplines

• College of Agriculture: Agronomy, Plant Breeding and Genetics (PBG), and Plant Pathology are covered by the circular.
• College of Agriculture Engineering and Technology: The notice lists the FMPE and APFE departments.
• College of Community Science: The openings cover Resource Management and Consumer Science, and Human Development and Family Studies.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: The initial engagement runs until 31 March 2027 or until the underlying post is filled through regular recruitment, whichever comes first. Further engagement depends on satisfactory performance.
• Academic role: The arrangement supports the university’s teaching and research work. It does not give you administrative or financial powers.
• Joining: You must join within one month of the university issuing the appointment order. The university may withdraw an offer if you do not join within that period.
• Continuation: Misconduct, research piracy, unsatisfactory work or a later finding that you did not meet the requirements can lead to cancellation of the appointment.
• Leave: The scheme allows 15 days of paid leave for a completed year, adjusted proportionately for a shorter engagement. Leave beyond that entitlement affects payment for the extra period.
• Host support: Your constituent establishment provides workspace and access to its academic facilities. Leave is handled by the Dean or Director, with the Head of Department kept informed.

Application Submission Notes

Your prescribed application goes to the Registrar, OUAT, Bhubaneswar 751003, Odisha, through the Dean or Director of the constituent college where you propose to work. Use Annexure I and Annexure II in the notification; the college forwards your application with a justification of its teaching and research workload. The later forwarding deadline is for the college administration, so it does not extend your own application deadline.
