OSSSC Radiographer Recruitment 2026: Overview
Odisha Sub-ordinate Staff Selection Commission (OSSSC), Bhubaneswar has advertised 240 posts of Radiographer through Advertisement No. IIE-60/2026-2630/OSSSC dated 28 August 2026 for the district establishments of the Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Odisha. Radiographer is a District Cadre Group-C post: the vacancies are spread over all 30 districts of Odisha, and a selected candidate is posted and transferred within the allotted district only. Online registration and applications opened on 31 August 2026, and the online application must be submitted by 30 September 2026 on the commission's website, www.osssc.gov.in. Posts and Disciplines
- Radiographer (District Cadre, Group-C): 240 posts under the Odisha Radiographer Service (Method of Recruitment and Conditions of Service) Rules, 2019, as amended. The largest district quotas are Cuttack (26), Ganjam (21), Koraput (14), Angul (13) and Puri (13); the smallest are Deogarh (1), Boudh (2) and Sundargarh (2).
The district-wise table in the advertisement splits every district's posts among UR, ST, SC and SEBC with a women's sub-reservation in each, and reserves 2 posts for ex-servicemen, 6 for hearing-impaired and 4 for orthopaedically-impaired candidates within those totals. Service Conditions and Caveats
- Eligibility date: age, qualification and registration are all reckoned as on 28 August 2026, the date of the advertisement.
- Council registration: your name must be registered with the Radiographers Council of the State, and the valid registration or renewal certificate as on the date of online application must be uploaded with the form.
- Odia language: you must be able to speak, read and write Odia — through the Middle School Examination with Odia as a language subject, Matriculation with Odia as the medium of examination, Odia as a language subject up to Class VII or above, or the M.E. School standard Odia test of the School and Mass Education Department.
- Registration window: new registration and re-registration close on 23 September 2026, a week before the application deadline — a candidate who has not registered by then cannot submit the form on the last day.
- Fee refund: the Rs. 500 examination fee is refunded to candidates who actually appear in the written test; SC, ST and PwD candidates pay no fee.
- Negative marking: one-fourth of a mark is deducted for every wrong answer; the qualifying score is 35% (30% for SC, ST, PwD and ex-servicemen candidates).
- District cadre: the post is a district-cadre post — you serve, and are transferred, within the district allotted to you.
- Vacancy count: the number of posts may be changed by the Government without prior notice.
Application Submission Notes
Applications are accepted online only through the OSSSC website, www.osssc.gov.in. New candidates register first and candidates already registered with the commission re-register; then log in, fill the Radiographer-2026 form, upload the photograph, signature and documents in the prescribed format, pay the fee online through net banking, card or UPI, choose up to three districts of preference and submit before 30 September 2026. Applications in any other mode, or incomplete applications, are summarily rejected — keep a copy of the submitted form for the document-verification stage.

Selection is through a single objective-type written test of 100 questions for 100 marks, to be completed in 2 hours in OMR or computer-based (CBRE) mode as decided by the commission.
Paper Structure
- DMRT syllabus: 60 marks
- Practical skills: 25 marks
- Arithmetic: 10 marks
- English: 5 marks
Negative Marking: one-fourth (0.25) of a mark is deducted for every wrong answer; unattempted questions carry no penalty.
Minimum Qualifying Marks: 35% for all candidates, 30% for SC, ST, PwD and ex-servicemen candidates.
Document Verification: candidates who secure the qualifying marks are shortlisted — not less than 1.25 times the number of vacancies — for verification of original documents before the District Level Board, followed by district allotment in order of merit and preference.
