Oil India Limited (OIL), a Maharatna Public Sector Undertaking and India's second-largest upstream oil and gas company, has released Advertisement No. HRAQ/CONT-WP-B/26-287 dated 22 July 2026 for 2 Contractual Electrician posts at its Field Headquarters in Duliajan, Assam. This is a purely contractual and temporary engagement that involves shift-based work in remote and hazardous OIL installations, including on-call duty. As a Contractual Electrician, you will handle maintenance of motors, panels, batteries, and lighting systems across the plant. Only candidates with domicile of Assam or Arunachal Pradesh are eligible, so confirm your domicile status before you plan to travel for the walk-in.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You must have passed Class 10th from a Government-recognized education board.
• Trade Certificate: You need a National/Provisional Trade Certificate in Electrician Trade issued by NCVT (National Council for Vocational Training) or SCVT (State Council for Vocational Training).
• License: You must hold a valid Electrical Workman's Permit (Class I & Class II) issued by a Government Electrical Licensing Board.
• Experience: You need at least 2 years of post-qualification electrical work experience in a Government, Semi-Government, PSU, Public Limited, or Private organization.
• Domicile: Only candidates domiciled in Assam or Arunachal Pradesh can apply.

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 35 years old (General category) as on the date of registration for the Walk-in Personal Assessment.
• Age Relaxation: OBC (NCL) candidates can apply up to 38 years.

Salary

• You will get a fixed emolument of Rs. 21,450 per month, based on your attendance, including paid leave and holidays.
• You will also get a variable emolument of Rs. 825 per day for each day you actually work.
• Note: If you avail Maternity Leave during your contract, only the Fixed component will be paid for that period.

Selection Process

OIL will select candidates through a Walk-in for Personal Assessment carrying 100 marks. You need to score at least 50 marks to qualify, whatever your category.

1. Document Verification: Your information is checked against your original documents at the time of registration.
2. Walk-in Personal Assessment: You are evaluated on professional knowledge and skills in the electrician trade, related allied-discipline knowledge, and personal attributes and soft skills.
3. Final Merit List: Selection is purely merit-based, using the marks you score in the assessment, among candidates who clear the qualifying mark of 50.

The Personal Assessment proceeds in the order candidates register, and if the number of candidates registering on 5 August 2026 exceeds the venue's capacity, OIL will carry the assessment forward to the following day(s) for the remaining registered candidates. The initial contract runs for 6 months, extendable for three further tenures of 6 months each, for a maximum of 24 months, depending on your performance and OIL's requirement. The contract can be ended by either side with 15 days' notice, and it does not create any right to regular employment or absorption in Oil India Limited.

How to Apply

1. Check that you meet all the eligibility conditions before you travel for the walk-in.
2. Download and fill the Personal Bio-Data Form given in the advertisement.
3. Arrange your original documents plus one set of self-attested photocopies — bio-data form, passport-size photo, photo ID and address proof, Class 10th certificate as DOB proof, trade certificate, workman's permit, and experience certificate(s).
4. Report to Duliajan Club, Oil India Limited, Duliajan, Assam on 5 August 2026 between 7:00 AM and 9:00 AM for registration.
5. Appear for the Walk-in Personal Assessment on the same day — late registration is not allowed under any circumstances, and you will not be allowed to appear without your original documents.

No Travelling Allowance or Daily Allowance will be paid for attending the assessment, so plan your own travel and stay in advance.

• Carry out preventive and breakdown maintenance of electrical motors and panels
• Perform periodic maintenance of UPS batteries, battery chargers, cathodic protection systems, and earth pits
• Maintain daily work records and track spares in the inventory register
• Assist vendor personnel during AMC (Annual Maintenance Contract) jobs
• Fix high mast lights, other lighting fixtures, and fans in the plant
• Provide temporary power connections for various field jobs when required
• Respond promptly to electrical emergencies in the plant
• Support the electrical engineer with ongoing field work as directed
