National Institute of Technology Jamshedpur (NIT Jamshedpur), an Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Education, is hiring Guest Faculty/Coach for its Student Activity Centre to run activities across Physical Education and Sports, Yoga, NCC and NSS for the 2026-27 academic session. This is a temporary engagement tied to the current session, not a regular faculty appointment. The institute is filling all four coaching verticals together through this single walk-in drive, so working professionals, ex-servicemen and postgraduates with the right certification can pick the area that matches their background.

Posts and Disciplines

• Physical Education and Sports Coach: requires a Master's degree in Physical Education or an equivalent qualification to run the institute's sports and fitness activities.
• Yoga Coach: requires a Master's degree in Yoga or an equivalent qualification.
• NCC Officer/Coach: open to postgraduates or ex-servicemen from the Defence Services holding a valid NCC 'C' Certificate.
• NSS Programme Coordinator: requires a postgraduate degree along with an NSS Certificate and experience in community service and youth development.

A Ph.D. or equivalent qualification in the relevant discipline is desirable for all four positions, though not mandatory.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: The engagement is purely temporary for the 2026-27 academic session and can be ended by either side with due notice.
• Institute's rights: NIT Jamshedpur can cancel or modify the engagement process, or choose not to fill any of the positions, without giving a reason.

• Conduct training sessions and coaching activities in your assigned area (Physical Education, Yoga, NCC, or NSS)

• Maintain attendance and performance records of participating students
• Coordinate with the Student Activity Centre for events, camps, and competitions
• Ensure safety and discipline during all training and camp sessions
• Support students preparing for inter-institute or state-level events
