National Health Systems Resource Centre (NHSRC) Senior Consultant Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

NHSRC was set up in 2006 as the technical support arm of the National Health Mission (NHM) under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare. It helps states strengthen their public health systems and also contributes to national health policy and programme design. NHSRC has now opened 1 contractual post of Senior Consultant - Healthcare Technology, reporting to the Advisor-Healthcare Technology. The contract runs till 31 March 2028, with further extensions of similar duration possible based on your performance — a longer-term consultancy role than most government postings. Selected candidates may also be considered for other vacant NHSRC positions requiring a similar skill set.

As Senior Consultant, you will appraise state health action plans, carry out research on primary healthcare service delivery, and run cost-effectiveness analysis of medical devices and diagnostics. The role combines desk research with field visits to states and districts, working alongside a transdisciplinary team on service delivery systems, health financing, and quality of care.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: B.Tech/B.E. in Biomedical Engineering along with a regular M.Tech or MBA. Only full-time regular degrees count — diploma, certificate, executive, distance, online, part-time, and correspondence qualifications are not considered
• Experience: At least 5 years of post-qualification experience working in devices-related fields; experience with NHM or Health Systems is preferred
• Published work in devices, diagnostics, clinical research, systematic reviews, or meta-analysis of device/diagnostics studies is an added advantage
• You need strong computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, web research) and excellent written and spoken English communication
• You should be able to work in a multi-disciplinary team and be willing to travel to states and districts to collect technical information
• Formal educational qualification can be relaxed for exceptional candidates.

Age Limit

• You should be up to 50 years old as on the date of receiving your application.

Salary

• Selected candidates will get a salary between Rs. 90,000 and Rs. 1,50,000 per month, fixed based on your qualification and experience.
• You will also get free accidental insurance, subsidized medical insurance, mobile bill and laptop reimbursement, 30 days consolidated leave, and fully paid maternity leave for female consultants, along with performance-linked increments and TA/DA plus per diem for official travel.

Selection Process

The selection will be done in the following stages:
