NEIGRIHMS Project Research Scientist I Medical Recruitment 2026: Overview
North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS) is recruiting a Project Research Scientist-I (Medical) for the Ayush TB project in its Department of Microbiology, Shillong. Funded by the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), the project studies an Ayurveda regimen alongside anti-tuberculosis treatment and nutritional supplementation. It looks at safety, tolerability, body weight, nutrition and quality of life in adults with newly diagnosed drug-sensitive pulmonary tuberculosis. You would join a temporary research contract linked to this clinical study.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Tenure clarification: The opening paragraph sets the appointment end at 31 March 2027, while the table describes a 1-year project duration and performance-based extension. Ask the department to clarify the contract period before accepting an offer.
- Employment status: Joining the project gives you no claim to a regular institute appointment. Benefits provided to permanent employees do not apply to this contractual post.
- Acceptance of rules: If selected, you must provide an undertaking accepting the rules and regulations. It must be on judicial stamp paper and notarized by an authorized notary.
- Travel costs: You must arrange your interview visit at your own expense. NEIGRIHMS will not pay travel or daily allowances for attending.
