National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) Consultant Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

The Department of Teacher Education (DTE), NCERT has released a notification for 1 Consultant post on a purely contractual basis for the PAB Project "Capacity Development Programme on Equitable and Inclusive Education for Teacher Educators from DIETs and SCERTs with Focus on Children with Disabilities (CwDs)" for the year 2026-27. The tenure runs till 31 March 2027. NCERT is the apex body advising the central and state governments on school education policy, so this role gives you a chance to work directly on national teacher-training reforms. Candidates with a background in inclusive education, data analysis (MS Word, Excel, SPSS) and academic project coordination are encouraged to apply.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: Master's Degree in Education, Social Science, Humanities, Science or Social Work with 55% marks as per UGC Guidelines for Assistant Professor at entry level.
• Additional Requirement: You must be NET qualified or hold a PhD as per UGC Regulation Act, 2009.
• Experience: At least 3 years of experience working in academic projects.
• Preferred Qualification: A PhD in education, experience working on children with disabilities and inclusive education, strong research analysis skills (MS Word, Excel, SPSS), ICT tools, cross-jurisdiction coordination, and strong documentation and report writing skills.

Note: Time spent pursuing MPhil or PhD does not count as teaching or research experience for eligibility purposes. Your experience must be related to school education or teacher education.

Age Limit

• You should not be more than 45 years old.
• Age Relaxation: Retired faculty can apply up to 70 years of age, as per Government of India norms.

Salary

• Selected candidates will get a consolidated remuneration of Rs. 80,000 to Rs. 1,00,000 per month, depending on your qualifications and experience.
• This is a purely contractual engagement and does not confer any claim for regular employment at NCERT.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

The selection will be done through:

1. Shortlisting: Based on your resume and eligibility conditions.
2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates must appear for an interview on 2 September 2026 at 10:00 AM in Room No. 301, 3rd Floor, Zakir Hussain Block, NCERT, Sri Aurobindo Marg, New Delhi.

Bring your original certificates, self-attested photocopies, resume, photo, and your laptop to the interview. No TA/DA will be paid for attending.
