MPERC Director Recruitment 2026: Overview

Madhya Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (MPERC) is recruiting Directors for its office in Bhopal through deputation and contract appointments. The commission regulates electricity tariffs, power procurement and licensing, and handles disputes within its statutory remit. This recruitment offers different appointment routes for serving officers, retired officers and private-sector professionals, with separate service terms for each route.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Deputation period: Your initial appointment runs for two years. An extension may be considered under the foreign-service guidelines and instructions followed by the Madhya Pradesh government.
• Parent organisation: MPERC can return you to your parent department before the deputation period ends. The appointment gives you no claim to a regular position in the commission.
• Contract period: A contract appointment also starts with a two-year term. The commission may extend it after considering your annual performance, so continued service depends on its decision.
• End of contract: If your contract is not extended, it ends automatically when its term expires. The commission does not need to issue a separate termination order at that point.
• Performance review: Contract staff undergo an annual assessment. You should distinguish this review from an assurance of renewal: the circular leaves the extension decision with the commission.
• Written agreement: If selected for a contract role, you must sign an agreement with MPERC. The engagement does not create a right to permanent appointment or a claim over its regular establishment.
• Early termination: Either side can end the contract with one month's advance notice or one month's salary in place of notice. The commission may waive the notice requirement, the payment, or both.
• Leave on contract: State-government holidays apply. The circular also provides 13 casual-leave days and 3 optional-leave days annually, with prior approval, plus 10 medical-leave days on a proportionate annual basis; unused medical leave carries into the next calendar year.
• Information in your application: The commission can cancel candidature if the details supplied do not satisfy the advertised conditions, including after an interview. An interview invitation alone does not confirm final acceptance.
• Conduct during recruitment: Trying to influence the recruitment directly or through someone else can disqualify your application. The commission retains the final decision on appointment.
