IREL Apprentice Recruitment 2026: Overview
IREL (India) Limited is offering apprenticeship training at its Chavara unit in Kollam, Kerala, under the Apprentices Act. This intermediate engagement brings together trade, engineering and general-stream training opportunities within the same unit. You join as an apprentice for a defined training period, with the company deciding the department to which you are attached.
Posts and Disciplines
- Fitter: a designated trade apprenticeship at the Chavara unit.
- Welder: a separate trade training option within this engagement.
- AAO(P): the chemistry-linked trade category listed in the notice.
- Mechanical Graduate Apprentice: the graduate engineering stream.
- Mechanical Technician Apprentice: the diploma engineering stream, distinct from the graduate category.
- Executive Apprentice: the general-stream option linked to finance and commerce.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Training period: AAO(P) training lasts 1½ years; the other listed categories run for 1 year. Your engagement follows the apprenticeship law and applicable rules.
- Employment after training: IREL does not promise a regular job during or after the apprenticeship. You are released from training when you complete the programme.
- Choice of trade: You can apply for only one trade. Choose the category that matches your qualification before completing the application.
- Local priority: Priority goes first to land-affected applicants, followed by people from the mining area and peripheral villages within 10 KM of Chavara, wards of serving employees or Forum members, Kollam residents, Kerala residents and then others.
- Reservation: The applicable Kerala percentages and government apprenticeship guidelines govern reservation for SC, ST, OBC, EWS and persons with disabilities.
- Training agreement: If selected, you sign an apprenticeship contract with the relevant authority. The company may attach you to any department within the unit.
- Contact details: Keep your email address and mobile number active through training and for 1 year afterwards so that the company can contact you.
- Changes to the drive: IREL can change, restrict or cancel the engagement process. Further information and amendments will appear on its website.
Application Submission Notes
Portal registration and a hard copy are both required. The notice names http://www.apprenticeshipindia.org for trade or vocational apprentices and http://www.nats.education.gov.in for graduate, technician and general executive applicants; it gives establishment registration number E0815320007.
Send the prescribed application to The DGM (HRM), IREL (India) Limited, Chavara, Kollam District, Kerala – 691583, preferably by Speed Post; the notice also permits other delivery modes. Use the envelope superscription printed in the notice and keep a copy of your application. You bear the risk of delivery delays or loss in transit.
पात्रता मानदंड
न्यूनतम योग्यता
ITI Fitter/Welder, MSc Chemistry for AAO(P), BE/BTech Mechanical, Diploma Mechanical, or BBA (Finance)/BCom, depending on the category. Distance, part-time and correspondence qualifications are not accepted. Higher/professional qualifications beyond the prescribed entry level are excluded, with an exception for AAO(P).
