IITGN Postdoctoral Fellow Recruitment 2026: Overview

- Develop finite element models of fibre-reinforced polymer composites for aerospace applications.

- Characterise polymers using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA).
- Measure temperature during composite fabrication.
- Measure strain using Fibre Bragg Grating (FBG) sensors.
- Use experimental data to calibrate and validate numerical models.
- Publish research findings in journals and contribute to project reports.
पात्रता मानदंड
न्यूनतम योग्यता
PhD in Mechanical, Aerospace, Civil, Materials or Chemical Engineering, Applied Mechanics or an allied area. Candidates who have submitted their PhD thesis can also apply. Minimum 60% or equivalent grade from graduation onward, and 55% or equivalent grade in Class 10 and Class 12.

Research on polymers or fibre-reinforced polymer composites, including constitutive modelling; commercial or in-house finite element codes such as Abaqus, ANSYS or COMSOL; UMAT/VUMAT subroutines; DSC/DMA characterisation or FBG strain sensing.
आवश्यक कौशल
Strong solid/continuum mechanics background and finite element analysis experience demonstrated through doctoral research. Good communication and independent simulation and experimental planning are desirable.
