Indian Institute of Technology Indore (IIT Indore) is an Institute of National Importance set up by the Ministry of Education and ranked 12th among engineering institutes in NIRF 2025. Through Advertisement No. IITI/Rect./NT-02/07/2026 dated 17 July 2026, the Institute has invited applications for 2 Executive Officer posts under the Unreserved (UR) category — one for Finance and one for Media. Only online applications are accepted, through the Institute's Samarth ERP portal. The Institute has also clarified that the number of vacancies may change at the time of recruitment, since it reserves the right to fill any consequential vacancies that arise from promotions, resignations, retirements or policy revisions.

Who Can Apply?

For Executive Officer (Finance):

• Qualification: Postgraduate degree in Finance from a recognized University/Institute with 60% marks or First Class.
• Experience: 15 years of relevant administrative experience in a Central/State Government body, Autonomous Body, Central Educational Institution, University, IIT or IISER (or equivalent), including at least 5 years at Pay Level 11 or equivalent in a supervisory or senior administrative role covering policy implementation, cross-department coordination and institutional governance.
• Desirable: Demonstrated experience in Finance & Accounts; a Ph.D. in a relevant field is an added advantage.

For Executive Officer (Media):

• Qualification: Postgraduate degree in Media from a recognized University/Institute with 60% marks or First Class.
• Experience: Same 15-year administrative experience requirement as above, including at least 5 years at Pay Level 11 or equivalent.
• Desirable: Demonstrated experience in Media/Public Relations; a Ph.D. in a relevant field is an added advantage.

Only post-qualification experience is counted, and your experience and age will be calculated as on the last date of online submission. Preference goes to applicants with experience in Centrally Funded Technical Institutes (CFTIs) or reputed educational institutes, and with sound computer application skills.

Salary

• Both posts carry a salary of Rs. 78,800 to Rs. 2,09,200 per month at Pay Level 12 of the 7th Central Pay Commission.
• You will also get DA, HRA and other allowances as per Central Government/IIT rules, along with coverage under the New Pension Scheme (NPS).

Selection Process

IIT Indore will assess you across more than one stage:

1. Written Test
2. Skill Test / Job Suitability Test
3. Personality Test / Interview

You will need to make your own arrangements for food, transport and stay at every stage — no TA/DA is paid. If you are currently working in a Government or PSU role, you must route your application through proper channel with a No Objection Certificate (NOC), certified ACR/APAR copies for the last five years, and a Vigilance Clearance Certificate. If your experience certificate is from a PSU or Autonomous Body with a different pay scale, you must also submit an equivalence certificate, or that experience will not be counted.

Age Limit

• Age Relaxation: If you are serving in a Central/State Government or Autonomous Body in a regular position with at least 3 years of continuous service, you get a 5-year age relaxation.
• Age Relaxation: If you are engaged at IIT Indore through Contract, an Outsource Agency, a Project, or a Section 8 Company established by IIT Indore, and have completed at least 5 years of continuous, educationally qualified service, you also get a 5-year age relaxation.
