IISER TVM Project Scientist-1 Recruitment 2026: Overview
Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Thiruvananthapuram (IISER TVM) is hiring a Project Scientist-1 for an externally funded research project at its Vithura campus. The project focuses on AI-based smart sensors for rapid, real-time detection of ppm-level hydrogen leaks in storage and distribution structures. This is a project contract, with the appointment tied to the research rather than a regular institute position.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Tenure: The initial appointment is for 1 year. It may be extended by 0.5 year if your performance is satisfactory.
- Project closure: Your appointment ends automatically when the research project closes. The notice provides for this without further notice or compensation.
- Appointment terms: The funding agency sets the terms for the project and the post. These conditions govern your appointment throughout the engagement.
- No absorption claim: This appointment does not give you a right to a job with IISER TVM or the funding agency. That restriction applies both during the project and after it ends.
- Travel costs: The institute will not pay travel or daily allowances for attending the interview. You will need to arrange your own travel.
- Joining: If selected, you are expected to join as soon as possible after receiving the offer letter. Keep this expectation in mind when considering the engagement.

न्यूनतम योग्यता
Doctoral degree in Physics with specialisation in condensed matter physics. Candidates who have submitted their thesis may also apply. The qualifying degree must be from a recognised university or institution.

Prior experience in thin-film deposition using high-vacuum deposition systems and gas sensing.
