IISER Kolkata Librarian and Deputy Librarian Recruitment 2026: Overview
Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Kolkata (IISER Kolkata) is recruiting regular Librarian and Deputy Librarian staff at Mohanpur in West Bengal. These non-teaching appointments support an Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Education, focused on education and research in basic sciences. The notice includes a disability reservation for Deputy Librarian, so check the conditions for the role you choose.
Posts and Disciplines
- Librarian: A Group A library position in the institute's non-teaching establishment.
- Deputy Librarian: A separate Group A library position at the same campus, carrying the disability reservation in this notice.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Probation: Regular appointments begin with one year of probation, which can be extended. Confirmation depends on completing probation successfully.
- Reservation: The Deputy Librarian position is reserved for persons with benchmark disabilities in the listed categories: One Arm, One Leg, Low Vision and Hearing Impaired. Both positions appear as unreserved in the post table.

Masters in Library Science, Information Science or Documentation Science with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade, and PhD in library science, information science, documentation, archives or manuscript-keeping. Qualifications must be recognised, with postgraduate duration at least 2 years and undergraduate duration at least 3 years.
