TRAI Private Secretary Recruitment 2026: Overview
Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) is recruiting Private Secretaries for its headquarters in New Delhi. These are deputation appointments on foreign-service terms for officers from the specified public-sector institutions. The main practical point is that your parent organization must be able to release you immediately if you are selected.
TRAI was established under the TRAI Act, 1997 to regulate telecommunications, protect service-provider and consumer interests, and support orderly growth in the sector. Its remit also includes broadcasting and cable-service regulation. This recruitment is for the authority’s headquarters establishment.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Initial tenure: The deputation is initially for three years. You should consider that stated period when discussing release with your parent cadre or department.
- Foreign-service terms: The appointment follows the Department of Personnel and Training instructions in OM 6/8/2009-Estt. (Pay II) dated 17 June 2010, together with subsequent amendments.
- Release from your employer: The forwarding organization must be able to place your services at TRAI’s disposal immediately after selection. Discuss this requirement with the office handling your application.
- Headquarters appointment: The notice identifies New Delhi headquarters as the place of appointment. It does not describe a regional-office vacancy under this advertisement.

Your parent organization handles the forwarding package and service clearances. Allow time for this internal process as well as delivery to TRAI; completing the online form does not replace the hard-copy forwarding requirement.

Officers of Central/State Government, Union Territory administrations, PSUs, statutory/autonomous bodies, recognized universities or research institutes: analogous regular post in parent cadre/department, or 5 years of regular service after appointment as Personal Assistant in Level 6.
