HURL Manager and Officer Recruitment 2026: Overview

Hindustan Urvarak & Rasayan Limited (HURL) is a joint venture of IOCL, NTPC, Coal India, FCIL and HFCL that runs gas-based ammonia-urea fertilizer complexes at Gorakhpur (Uttar Pradesh), Sindri (Jharkhand) and Barauni (Bihar). Under advertisement E/05/2026 it is hiring experienced professionals for its plants — regular executive posts in Ammonia, Urea, Mechanical and Contracts & Materials, plus fixed-term contract posts in Security and Medical. This drive suits people already working in fertilizer, petrochemical or refinery plants who want a move to a large PSU-backed company.

Each discipline is advertised across a band of grades, from Senior Engineer up to Additional Chief Manager. The grade you are considered for depends on your post-qualification experience and current pay level, so read the grade-wise experience rules before you choose.

Posts and Disciplines

• Ammonia (regular): Additional Chief Manager, Senior Manager or Manager for chemical engineers who already run an ammonia plant and know DCS and ESD systems.
• Urea (regular): two separate openings — one at the Additional Chief Manager to Manager level and one at the Deputy Manager or Assistant Manager level — for chemical engineers currently working in a urea plant.
• Mechanical (regular): Assistant Manager or Senior Engineer for maintenance of rotating machines, compressors, steam and gas turbines and piping in fertilizer, petrochemical or refinery plants.
• Contracts and Materials (regular): Senior Manager or Manager, plus Deputy Manager or Assistant Manager, for engineers or materials-management MBAs with hands-on SAP-based tendering, purchase and inventory work.
• Security (fixed-term): Senior Manager or Manager for former commissioned officers of the Armed Forces or Class I CAPF/police officers; the selected person can be posted to any unit as Chief Security Officer.
• Medical (fixed-term): Deputy Manager, Assistant Manager or Officer for MBBS doctors with industrial health training and experience in a medical institute or industrial unit.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Probation: Regular executives serve one year on probation; confirmation needs a satisfactory performance rating, otherwise probation may be extended.
• Fixed-term contracts: Security and Medical posts run for three years at first, extendable by up to two more years, and give no claim to a permanent job.
• Panel validity: The posts are against expected future attrition; offers go out in merit order only against actual vacancies, and the panel lapses after six months.
• Pay protection: If you work in a PSU, government body or JV, you must have two years in the grade just below (four years for Assistant Manager); private-sector candidates must meet the notice's CTC table.
• Salary proof is compulsory: Upload your CTC details or salary slips with the form — applications without them are rejected.
• NOC: PSU and government employees need an NOC from their employer, or a notarised affidavit that no vigilance or disciplinary case is pending.
• Full-time degrees only: Distance-learning qualifications are not accepted, and trainee, teaching, internship or part-time work does not count as experience.
• Posting and transfer: You can be posted to any HURL site or department as the company needs.
• Past decliners: If you were selected in the last year and did not join, you need not apply.

Application Submission Notes

Register and apply on the HURL HRMS portal — no other mode is accepted. You can apply for only one position, and the form cannot be edited after submission. Keep your scanned photo and signature (up to 1 MB) and experience documents (up to 500 KB) ready; blurred uploads get the application rejected. Internal HURL employees must take prior permission before applying.
