Gujarat Subordinate Services Selection Board (GSSSB), Gandhinagar has released notification number 412/202627 for 1 Cataloger Class-3 post under the Directorate of Technical Education. This is a Special Recruitment Drive (SRD) exclusively for Divyang candidates with Low Vision (LV) disability (40-70%). Other candidates are not eligible. Selection is through a CBRT/OMR-based MCQ exam.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You must have a Second Class Bachelor's degree in Library and Information Science from a recognised university or any equivalent institution declared as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956.
• Computer Knowledge: Basic knowledge of computer application as prescribed in Gujarat Civil Services Rules, 1967.
• Language: Adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi (or both).
• Disability: Only candidates with Low Vision (LV) disability of 40% to 70% are eligible.
• Nationality: You must be a citizen of India or satisfy the nationality rules under Gujarat Civil Services Rules, 1967.

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 36 years old as on 29 May 2026.
• Age Relaxation for Divyang candidates:
  • General Category Male: 10 years (max age 43)
  • General Category Female: 15 years (max age 45)
  • Reserved Category Male: 15 years (max age 45)
  • Reserved Category Female: 20 years (max age 45)
• Maximum age cannot exceed 45 years in any case.

Salary

• Fixed pay of Rs. 26,000 per month for the first 5 years.
• After 5 years (subject to satisfactory service), you will be moved to regular pay scale Rs. 25,500 to Rs. 81,100 (Level-4) under the 7th Pay Commission.
• You will also get DA, HRA, TA and other allowances as per Gujarat Government rules.
• Note: The pay arrangement is subject to the decision in Supreme Court SLP No. 14124/2012 and 14125/2012.

Application Fee

• Divyang (PwD) candidates: Rs. 400/-
• Payment mode: Online only via Debit Card, Net Banking, UPI or Wallets on the OJAS portal.
• The fee is refundable to candidates who actually appear for the exam.
• Last date for fee payment: 01 June 2026.

Selection Process

Selection is based on a competitive exam in CBRT (Computer Based Response Test) / OMR format with MCQ questions. The exam has two parts:

1. Part-A (90 Marks): Reasoning, Mathematics, Indian Constitution, Current Affairs and Comprehension (Gujarati and English).
2. Part-B (120 Marks): Library Science subject-related questions.
3. Total: 210 marks. Combined time: 3 hours (180 minutes).
4. Negative Marking: 0.25 marks (1/4) deducted for each wrong answer.
5. Minimum Qualifying: 40% separately in Part-A and Part-B.
6. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates (about 2x vacancies) will be called for verification.

4. Fill in your Personal Details and Educational Details carefully.

6. Click Confirm Application to get your confirmation number (no edits after this).
7. Pay the application fee online and print the application form for records.
