GSSSB is hiring 184 Pharmacist / Compounder (Ayurveda) Class-3 posts in Gujarat under the Directorate of AYUSH. Gujarat Gaun Seva Pasandgi Mandal (GSSSB), Gandhinagar has released Advertisement No. 407/202627 for 184 Pharmacist / Compounder (Ayurveda), Class-3 posts under the Department of Health and Family Welfare, AYUSH Directorate. This is a permanent state government job with a fixed pay for 5 years and regular Pay Level-5 scale afterwards. Ayurveda pharmacy graduates and experienced diploma holders can apply through the OJAS portal. This job requires you to live in government quarters during duty hours where provided.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You must have one of the following:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy (Ayurveda) from a recognised university, OR
  • Diploma in Pharmacy (Ayurveda) from a recognised university AND about 2 years experience as a Pharmacist or Compounder in Government, Local Body, Government Undertaking, Board, Corporation or Limited Company.
• Computer Knowledge: Basic knowledge of computer application as per Gujarat Civil Services rules.
• Language: Adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi or both.
• Reservation: Only original residents of Gujarat are eligible for reservation and age relaxation benefits.

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 35 years as on 28 May 2026.
• Age Relaxation (as per category):
  • General Female: 5 years (max 40 years)
  • Reserved Male (SC/ST/SEBC): 5 years (max 40 years)
  • Reserved Female: 10 years (max 45 years)
  • General Male Divyang: 10 years (max 45 years)

Salary

• For the first 5 years: Rs. 40,800 per month fixed pay.
• After 5 years (on satisfactory service): regular pay scale of Rs. 29,200 - Rs. 92,300 under Pay Level-5 of the 7th Central Pay Commission.
• You will also get DA, HRA, TA and other allowances as per Gujarat Government rules (after regular appointment).

Selection Process

Selection will be done through a single-stage competitive exam followed by document verification:

1. Written Exam (CBRT/OMR - MCQ based): 210 questions for 210 marks in 3 hours (180 minutes). Negative marking of 1/4 mark for each wrong answer.
   • Part-A (90 marks): Reasoning & Data Interpretation (30Q), Quantitative Aptitude (30Q), Constitution of India (10Q), Current Affairs (10Q), Gujarati & English Comprehension (10Q)
   • Part-B (120 marks): Ayurveda Pharmacy technical subject questions
2. Qualifying Standard: Minimum 40% marks in each of Part-A and Part-B (no relaxation in qualifying marks for any category).
3. Document Verification: About 2x candidates of vacancies called as per category merit.

Exam centre and date will be announced on https://gsssb.gujarat.gov.in. This job is transferable and requires staying in government quarters during duty hours where provided.

4. Accept the assurance and save the form to generate your Application Number.
5. Upload your photograph and signature (JPG, under 15 KB each).
6. Confirm the application to get the Confirmation Number.
7. Pay the fee online through Debit Card / Net Banking / UPI / Wallet.
8. Take a printout of the application and the fee receipt for your records.

• Dispense Ayurvedic medicines, herbal preparations and classical formulations to OPD and IPD patients as prescribed by Ayurveda Medical Officers
• Prepare classical Ayurvedic formulations like Kashayam, Choornam, Bhasma and Asava-Arishta in the hospital pharmacy
• Keep proper stock registers of raw drugs, medicines, indents and expiry records
• Maintain hygiene and safety standards in the pharmacy as per AYUSH guidelines
• Counsel patients on correct dosage, anupana (vehicle) and timing of Ayurvedic medicines
• Assist medical officers in panchakarma and other Ayurvedic procedures when required
• Submit daily and monthly reports of medicines issued and stock balance to the in-charge officer
