GMCH Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist Recruitment 2026: Overview
Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Guwahati is hiring a Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist for a Gates Foundation funded project supporting health system strengthening in Assam. The contractual position sits within the project's NPMU team and connects public health information with programme planning under the National Health Mission (NHM). Its focus is the use of evidence across the health system, including information shared with government teams and project partners. You would join a project where data from existing health platforms is intended to support a more connected view of programme performance.
Service Conditions and Caveats

- Generate evidence from health data to support National Health Mission decisions.
- Develop platforms that combine and cross-check information from existing health systems.
- Set regular monitoring cycles for important programme indicators.
- Lead data quality assessments and arrange feedback for corrective action.
- Prepare monthly progress dashboards, six-monthly evaluation reports and an annual results compendium.
- Turn evaluation findings into policy briefs and other knowledge products.
- Present findings to the Steering Committee, health department, National Health Mission and consortium partners.
- Visit districts for technical assistance, programme reviews and data collection.
