GMC Jalgaon Medical Faculty Recruitment 2026: Overview

Government Medical College, Jalgaon (GMC Jalgaon) is recruiting senior medical teachers for clinical, super-speciality and foundational departments at its Government Hospital campus. The notice combines Professor and Associate Professor roles under one fixed-term recruitment and uses National Medical Commission standards for qualifications, teaching experience and research. This is an institute-level contractual appointment while regular faculty become available, so it does not create a future claim to a permanent government post.

Posts and Disciplines

• Professor disciplines: Anatomy, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Preventive and Social Medicine, General Medicine, Dermatology and Venereology, Psychiatry, Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and Radio-Diagnosis.
• Associate Professor disciplines: Pharmacology, General Medicine, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Radio-Diagnosis, Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, and Forensic Medicine and Toxicology.
• Clinical departments: you will combine bedside teaching with service work in the attached hospital and help students connect classroom concepts with patient care.
• Basic and para-clinical departments: you will guide demonstrations, practical teaching, laboratory standards, assessment and academic record-keeping.

Post-wise Duties

Professor

You will lead the academic work of your specialty, coordinate teaching and clinical services, mentor faculty and residents, and help the college meet NMC requirements. You may also guide research planning, assessment design and departmental reporting.

Associate Professor

You will deliver regular teaching, supervise practical or bedside sessions and support the Professor with department administration and student assessment. In clinical departments, you will also share patient-care and resident-supervision work.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: the appointment continues until a regular candidate becomes available or the notified fixed term ends, whichever comes first.
• Contract status: the appointment gives no right to regular recruitment, and the service is not automatically counted for other government benefits.
• Academic-session undertaking: selected faculty must agree to complete at least one academic session; resignation during an ongoing session may not be accepted.
• Professional registration: continuing medical registration must remain valid throughout the engagement.
• Confidentiality and authority: appointees must protect official information and will not receive independent administrative or financial powers.
• Performance: unsatisfactory work, serious irregularity or misconduct may lead to the contract ending without advance notice.
• Travel: interview attendance is at your own cost, and the college does not promise travel support.
