DU JRF Atmospheric Studies Recruitment 2026: Overview
Dibrugarh University (DU) is engaging a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) at its Centre for Atmospheric Studies in Dibrugarh, Assam. The role belongs to an Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) RESPOND project on modelling Total Electron Content (TEC) over the North Eastern Region (NER) Equatorial Ionization Anomaly (EIA) region for navigational applications. It is a temporary project engagement linked to this research work.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Initial appointment: You will join for one year initially. The notice allows an extension based on performance, so the initial appointment and the full project duration should be understood separately.
- Project period: The project has a three-year tenure. This does not mean that the first appointment automatically covers the entire project period. The performance-based extension condition still applies to the fellow.
- Travel costs: The university will not pay travel or daily allowance for attending the interview. You will need to arrange your own journey to Dibrugarh and cover those attendance costs.

- Analyse Total Electron Content data from all stations.
- Develop and run the project’s TEC model.
- Build a mobile app for access to real-time TEC data.
- Compare model output with the IRI model.
- Validate model results against real-time analysis of NavIC receiver data.
