DCPU Ramanathapuram Support Person Recruitment 2026: Overview
The District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Ramanathapuram is building a panel of Support Persons for the district, announced through a press release from the District Collector. A Support Person stands beside a child who has suffered a sexual offence, giving help and emotional support while the case moves forward.
The selection follows Section 39 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012, the POCSO Rules, 2020 and the Tamil Nadu Government Order G.O. (Ms) No. 23 dated 12.08.2026. This is a listing (empanelment) exercise, not a regular government post.
If you come from social work, psychology, law or child welfare and want to work directly with children going through a very hard time, this role is worth your attention. The press release does not say how many people will be listed or how Support Persons will be paid, so read the Government Order and the application form before you apply.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Panel, not a fixed vacancy: Selected applicants are placed on a list of Support Persons for Ramanathapuram district; the notice gives no count of positions.
- Government Order conditions: You must also meet the other conditions laid down in G.O. (Ms) No. 23. The press release does not list them, so check the G.O. itself.
- Background check: Police background verification and other checks will be carried out as the Government Order prescribes.
- District focus: The panel is only for Ramanathapuram district, so you should be able to attend to children and cases within the district.
