BRIC-NIAB Student Counsellor / Psychiatrist Recruitment 2026: Overview
BRIC-National Institute of Animal Biotechnology (BRIC-NIAB), Hyderabad, is looking for a Student Counsellor / Psychiatrist under Advertisement No. 28/2026. NIAB is an autonomous institute under the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, and its research covers animal genomics, transgenic and reproductive technology, disease, vaccines and diagnostics for farm animals.
This is a part-time contract role at the institute's campus in Gachibowli, Hyderabad, not a full-time or regular post. It is meant for a qualified psychiatrist with real student counselling experience who can give a short slot on weekdays, so it can sit alongside an existing clinical practice.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Working hours: Two hours a day, Monday to Friday; the exact timings are fixed with you at the time of appointment.
- Contract term: You are engaged for 11 months, and the contract is likely to be extended.
- Medical registration: You must hold a valid, active registration with the National Medical Commission or a State Medical Council.
- Experience counting: Only student counselling experience gained after your qualifying degree or diploma counts.
- Crucial date: Your age and qualifications are judged as on the closing date of applications.
- Screening: If many applications come in, NIAB runs an in-house screening to keep candidates with higher or more relevant qualifications and experience; the committee's decision is final.
- Citizenship: Only Indian citizens can apply.
- Other rules: Anything the notice does not cover follows the NIAB bye-laws and Government of India rules.
Application Submission Notes
You apply online only through NIAB's online application system. Register with a username, password and valid email ID; if you already have a NIAB account, log in with it and open the application for Advertisement No. 28/2026.
Online applications close at 5 PM on the last day, not at midnight. Incomplete or late applications are not considered, interim enquiries are not answered, and any amendment is published only on the NIAB website.
