JAU SRF and Research Associate Recruitment 2026: Overview
Junagadh Agricultural University (JAU) is holding a walk-in interview for Senior Research Fellow (SRF) and Research Associate-1 posts at its Department of Agronomy, College of Agriculture, Junagadh. Both posts are temporary and linked to research schemes run from the department: the All India Co-ordinated Research Project on Integrated Farming System and the Gramin Krishi Mausam Sewa (GKMS) agro-met unit at Junagadh. This is a revised advertisement, so follow this version and the form attached to it. If you hold a postgraduate degree in agronomy, soil science or agricultural meteorology and want project experience at a state agricultural university, this walk-in is worth a look.
Posts and Disciplines
- Senior Research Fellow (SRF): attached to the AICRP on Integrated Farming System (budget head B.H. 2040). It is meant for postgraduates or Ph.D. holders in Agronomy or Agricultural Chemistry and Soil Science.
- Research Associate-1 (RA-1): attached to the GKMS Agro-Met Field Unit (AMFU) Junagadh, budget head BH 18005-01. Postgraduates in agricultural meteorology, agronomy, meteorology or agricultural physics can apply; agricultural meteorology gets preference, and a Ph.D. with crop-weather modelling and weather data analysis skills is a plus.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Nature of job: Purely temporary, on a contract with fixed monthly pay, and only for the life of the project.
- No permanent claim: Getting selected does not make you a permanent university employee, and you cannot claim any rights as one later.
- Termination: Your service can end when the scheme ends, or at any time by order of the appointing authority, without notice or compensation.
- Project tenure: Both schemes are currently sanctioned up to 31 March 2027.
- Travel cost: You attend the interview at your own expense; no travel allowance is paid.

Download the prescribed application form from www.jau.in (it is also attached to the notice), fill it and hand it in at the Department of Agronomy, Junagadh Agricultural University, Junagadh on the interview day between 8:00 and 9:00 AM. No forms are accepted after that window, and the interview starts at 9:30 AM.
Bring your original certificates with one set of attested photocopies, and paste a recent passport-size photo on the form with your signature across it. Applying for both posts? Fill a separate form and give a separate set of documents for each post.
