Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is hiring a Community Development Officer (CDO) for its Group of TB Hospitals at Sewri, Mumbai, under the Public Health Department. This is a hospital social-work role on a fixed contract, with a focus on supporting patients and their families. Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract tenure: Your appointment runs from joining until 31 March 2027. A one-day technical break applies after every 179 days of contract service.
• Employment status: This appointment gives you no claim to a permanent BMC post or the benefits attached to regular service. Read the contract terms before accepting the offer.
• Working hours: The day shift runs from 9 am to 5 pm. You must mark biometric attendance at both ends of the shift; missing attendance can lead to being treated as absent.
• Leave: Weekly holidays follow the assigned department's schedule. Casual leave is proportionate to 7.5 days for 6 months; the notice does not allow other leave. Unauthorised absence is treated as leave without pay.
• Emergency service: You must also serve during emergencies beyond the work normally assigned by hospital administration.
• Hospital procedures: You must follow the department's working guidelines and accept the medico-legal responsibilities attached to your work.
• Performance and discipline: Unsatisfactory work can lead to termination without advance notice. A breach of discipline can also bring the appointment to an immediate end.
• Resignation: If you decide to leave after joining, you must give one month's advance notice.
• Service agreement: At appointment, you must sign an agreement on Rs. 500 bond paper. This is a joining condition.
• Disclosure: You must disclose relevant criminal convictions, police enquiries and pending court proceedings. False information or withheld facts can lead to cancellation, including after appointment.
• Interview travel: You must attend at your own expense. BMC will send the venue and timing to the email address in your application two days beforehand.
• Recruitment changes: The Medical Superintendent may stop the process at any stage for administrative or other reasons.
