BHU IMS TNBC Project Staff Recruitment 2026: Overview

Banaras Hindu University (BHU) is hiring project staff at the Institute of Medical Sciences (IMS), Varanasi for an Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR)-funded extramural project titled "AI-Enabled Platform Integrating Stromal Dynamics to Predict Immunotherapy Response in Triple-Negative Breast Cancer". The work happens in the DIAMOnDS Lab of the Molecular Biology Building, under Principal Investigator Prof. Manoj Pandey.

Posts and Disciplines

• Project Research Scientist-II (Non-Medical): the senior research role, meant for a post-doctoral life scientist with a track record of first- or corresponding-author papers in Q1/Q2 journals.
• Project Technical Support-III: a hands-on experimental role for postgraduates in biotechnology, molecular biology, microbiology, clinical genetics, medical lab technology or life science; the application form lists it as the experimental support post.

Post-wise Duties

Project Research Scientist-II (Non-Medical)

The skill list points to work on multiplex immunofluorescence, IHC and TSA workflows, primary CAF isolation, 3D tumour spheroid and co-culture models, and digital pathology and spatial biology analysis. Experience with patient data, clinical samples, biobanking and SOP-driven lab management is highly valued.

Project Technical Support-III

Expect tissue sectioning, staining and sample processing, staining optimisation and antibody validation, and work with cancer cell lines and CAF cultures, while keeping lab records in line with SOPs.

Project Technical Support-II

This role centres on basic sample handling and preparation, reagents and consumables, routine equipment, inventory and lab documentation, plus sample logistics and lab housekeeping.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: Each post starts for one year and can be extended year by year up to the four-year project life, subject to periodic performance review.
• Notice period: Either side can end the engagement with one month's notice, without giving reasons.
• No absorption: You get no claim to a regular job or absorption in BHU, ICMR, DHR or the Government of India.
• Benefits not given: Provident Fund, CCA, LTC and medical claims are not admissible, and no TA/DA is paid for the written test, interview or joining.
• Shortlisting: The Principal Investigator may call only candidates with qualifications or experience above the minimum for interview.
• Working candidates: If you are employed in a government, autonomous or private institution, bring a No Objection Certificate to the interview.
