BEL Senior Assistant Engineer Recruitment 2026: Overview

Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a Navratna defence electronics company under the Ministry of Defence, is hiring Senior Assistant Engineers in the E-I grade for its NCS and Radar Strategic Business Unit at the Ghaziabad Complex. Every single post is reserved for ex-servicemen, and the drive is built around retired Indian Air Force technicians who held the rank of Junior Warrant Officer or above. BEL makes military radars, naval systems, electronic warfare and communication equipment, so your years of maintaining air force systems carry straight into this role. The engagement is on a fixed-tenure basis, and the work happens at BEL's project sites across India rather than only in Ghaziabad.

Posts and Disciplines

• Senior Assistant Engineer (Electronics): the bulk of the openings, meant for ex-IAF personnel holding a three-year diploma in Electronics Engineering or an equivalent.
• Senior Assistant Engineer (Electrical): a small group of posts for those with a three-year diploma in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent.
• PwBD: one post across the drive is reserved for persons with benchmark disability (40% or more).

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Ex-servicemen only: the reservation is 100% for ex-servicemen, and you must have served in the Indian Air Force for 15 years, reaching JWO rank or higher.
• Retirement cut-off: the vacancy table asks for retirement from the IAF on or before 1 August 2026; the experience note repeats a July 2026 date, so check the notice against your discharge date before you apply.
• Still in service? Serving personnel can apply only if their discharge falls within 3 months of the last date, with proof of medical category, character and expected discharge date.
• Tenure: the engagement runs for 15 years or until you turn 60, whichever comes first, and is reviewed every 5 years on your performance and project needs. The application form header itself describes a five-year fixed tenure.
• Posting: PAN-India project sites as the company needs. The form lets you list preferences such as Vadsar (Ahmedabad), Ayanagar (Delhi), Jodhpur, Bengaluru, Shillong, Port Blair, Leh, Tezpur and Kavaratti, but you can be posted anywhere in India.
• Medical fitness: you must pass BEL's pre-employment medical examination; no relaxation in health standards is given.
• Antecedent verification: selection stays provisional until a clean police and antecedent report comes in.
• Government employees: apply through proper channel or attach a No Objection Certificate.
• Category change: the category you declare in the form cannot be changed later.
• Legal disputes: any dispute falls under the courts and tribunals at Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh.
