All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Raipur (AIIMS Raipur) is taking one Project Technical Support III (Audiologist) on a contract, for a funded study running in its Department of ENT and Head and Neck Surgery. The study, titled "Community based model for early detection speech and language training of hearing impaired children in four regions of India - Implementation study", is building a community-level way to catch hearing loss early in small children and start speech and language training for them.

One year of the planned three-year study is already over, so you would join a team that is mid-way through its field work, with about two years of the project left. The work is split between the ENT department on the Raipur campus and field and community visits that the study protocol decides. Prof. (Dr.) Ripu Daman Arora is the Principal Investigator. If you hold an audiology degree with a live RCI registration and want hands-on paediatric hearing work instead of a desk job, this walk-in is worth attending.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Nature of the engagement: This is a fixed-tenure contractual post under a funded project, not a job on the AIIMS Raipur payroll. The engagement ends by itself once the stated duration is over.
• Tenure: The first appointment is for six months and is then renewed until the study is completed.
• Extension: You continue only if the project itself continues and your work performance evaluation reports support it.
• Notice period: Either side can end the contract with one month's notice, and no reason has to be given.
• No permanent claim: Working on this project gives you no right to claim regular employment at AIIMS Raipur.
• Duties as assigned: The competent authority can hand you any duty connected with the study, and no extra allowance is paid for such work.
• Leave: Leave follows the ICMR policy for project staff.
• Post count can change: AIIMS Raipur says the number of posts may change later as per the project's requirement.
• No TA/DA: You will not get travel or daily allowance for attending the walk-in.
• Age reckoning: Your age is counted from the day of the interview.

• Conduct hearing assessments for children aged 0 to 6 years using screening tools and audiometric techniques
• Assist in diagnosing hearing loss and record every finding properly
• Fit hearing aids and other amplification devices and troubleshoot them when they fail
• Work with the rehabilitation team on early speech and language intervention
• Keep records of audiological assessments, test results and referrals
• Coordinate with speech therapists, field workers and caregivers so families get complete care
• Take part in training programmes and support capacity building at the community level
