AIIMS Guwahati Project Associate I Recruitment 2026: Overview

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Guwahati is hiring a Project Associate I for its Department of Biochemistry. The research examines whether clonal hematopoiesis of indeterminate potential (CHIP) is a risk factor for premature atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD). Supported by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science and Technology, the project is led by Dr. Ashikh A Seethy.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Initial tenure: Your first contract runs for one year. The project has approval for up to three years, and an extension can depend on your first-year performance and the remaining project period.
• Project appointment: You join the staff sanctioned for this externally funded study. The appointment does not give you a right to a regular AIIMS post, permanent absorption or further contractual employment.
• Contract end: The contract ends automatically unless both sides agree to renew it. Either side can end it earlier with 30 days’ notice or salary in place of notice.
• Full-time commitment: You cannot hold another job at the same time. The institute’s conduct and discipline rules apply during your appointment.
• Accommodation: Neither the institute nor the principal investigator will provide hostel accommodation or other housing. You will need to make your own arrangements if you join.
• Travel expenses: AIIMS will not pay travel or other allowances for attending the recruitment process or joining the post.
• PhD opportunity: You may be permitted to register for the institute’s PhD programme. This remains subject to its admission requirements and is not automatic with selection for the project.
