All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Guwahati is recruiting project staff through its Department of Community and Family Medicine. The appointments support ICMR-MINDS, an Indian Council of Medical Research study on bringing screening and care for mental-health and substance-use disorders together with care for other non-communicable diseases. Dr. Limalemla Jamir is the principal investigator.

This is field-based project work in Assam, with appointments funded through an extramural research project. You should be ready for travel within the state and occasional work outside normal duty hours. The engagement belongs to the project's staffing arrangement and does not give you a claim to a regular institute post.

Posts and Disciplines

• Project Research Scientist-II (Non-Medical): The scientific research appointment within the community and mental-health implementation study.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Initial term: The project is currently sanctioned for up to one year, and the appointment is for one year. An extension may run to the end of the project, depending on performance.
• Contract status: You cannot claim permanent absorption, regular appointment or continued contractual employment from this engagement. Renewal needs mutual agreement.
• Ending the contract: Either side may end the appointment with 30 days' notice or salary in place of notice. Otherwise, the contract expires at the end of its agreed period unless renewed.
• Full-time commitment: You cannot hold another job at the same time. Institute conduct and discipline rules apply during the engagement.
• Travel and accommodation: No separate travel or daily allowance is provided for field travel. The institute also does not cover travel for the recruitment process or joining, and it will not provide accommodation.
• Updates: Check the institute website and departmental notice board for recruitment announcements. AIIMS says it will not send individual updates to applicants.
• Research registration: A selected applicant may be allowed to register for an AIIMS Guwahati PhD, subject to meeting the institute's admission requirements. Appointment itself does not guarantee admission.
• Institute discretion: The competent authority may amend or cancel the advertisement. Disputes fall under the courts at Guwahati.
