The Department of Evidence Synthesis (DOES) at AIIMS Deoghar has released a contractual recruitment notification (Advt No. AIIMS/Deo/DOES/HTAIn/2026-27/08-02) for 2 posts under the Health Technology Assessment in India (HTAIn) Project funded by the Department of Health Research (DHR), Ministry of Health & Family Welfare. The engagement is purely contractual for 12 months, extendable by one more year based on performance, or until the project is completed, whichever is earlier. As Health Economist, your work will include planning HTA studies, writing and publishing research reports, and taking advocacy initiatives to publicise the project's findings. As Scientist-C / Research Officer, you will coordinate with agencies like ICMR, DGHS, and NHSRC, process proposals and MoUs, and organise workshops and stakeholder meetings.

The HTAIn Project is a Department of Health Research initiative that evaluates the costs and outcomes of health technologies to support evidence-based policymaking in India. You would work under Principal Investigator Dr. Seshadri Reddy Varikasuvu, Associate Professor of Biochemistry and Head of the Department of Evidence Synthesis at AIIMS Deoghar.

Both selected candidates will report to the Principal Investigator and work primarily out of AIIMS Deoghar's Department of Evidence Synthesis, though occasional travel for project-related work, workshops, or stakeholder meetings should be expected as part of the role.

Who Can Apply?

For Health Economist (Level of Scientist C):

• Master's degree in Health Economics, Economics, Public Health, or Community Medicine with specialization in Healthcare Costing and Economic Evaluation
• 2 years of experience in Health Economics for Junior Staff, or 6 years for Senior Staff
• Desirable: Ph.D. in a related field, plus proficiency in MS Office, VBA, and TreeAge

For Scientist C (Medical) / Research Officer:

• MBBS with 6 years' experience; OR Postgraduate Diploma after MBBS with 5 years' experience; OR MD/MS/DNB/MPH after MBBS with 4 years' research experience

For Scientist C (Non-Medical) / Research Officer:

• M.Sc. in Life Sciences/MPH/MHA/M.Pharm/Pharm D with 4 years' experience in the relevant area
• For the Research Officer track: a Science graduate with 4 years' experience, OR a relevant Master's degree, OR a Pharm D from a recognised institution
• Desirable: Ph.D. in Microbiology/Biochemistry/Biotechnology with 2 years' R&D or teaching experience

Age Limit

• The age limit for both posts is 40 years as on the last date of application submission.
• Age Relaxation: Available for Government servants and SC/ST/OBC candidates as per DoPT norms. Exceptionally qualified or experienced candidates and retired professionals may also get further relaxation.

Salary

• Both posts carry a consolidated remuneration of Rs. 67,000 per month plus HRA.
• This is a project-funded contractual position — no other central government pay-scale allowances apply.

Your performance will be reviewed every six months. If not found satisfactory, your engagement could be terminated with one month's notice or one month's stipend in lieu. No TA/DA is provided for attending the interview, and private practice of any kind is not permitted during your engagement.

Selection Process

The selection has 2 stages:

2. Written Test / Skill Test / Interview: Tentatively scheduled for 19 September 2026 in physical (in-person) mode at AIIMS Deoghar. Online interviews are allowed only for candidates with valid reasons, at the discretion of the Selection Committee.
