All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi has invited applications for 1 Project Research Scientist-I post under a research project titled "Development of Non-Invasive Machine Learning Based method to predicting axillary Lymph Node metastasis in Breast Cancer Patients using ultrasound". This project is based in the Department of Onco-Radiology at Dr. B.R.A.-IRCH, which is one of India's leading government cancer treatment and research hospitals, located within the AIIMS New Delhi campus.

The project aims to build a non-invasive machine learning tool that can help doctors predict whether breast cancer has spread to the axillary lymph nodes, using only ultrasound images — reducing the need for invasive biopsies. This role is ideal for candidates with a strong machine learning and deep learning background who want to apply their technical skills to real medical imaging data and cancer research. Both PhD holders and postgraduates with relevant project or internship experience can apply. This is a project-based contractual position tied to the duration of the funded research project.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification (Option 1): Ph.D. or M.Tech in Data Sciences, Physics/Applied Physics, Electronics or Bioinformatics, or an equivalent engineering background, with a focus on Machine Learning and Deep Learning Platform Development (SDE-level, meaning software-development-engineer level coding ability).
• Qualification (Option 2): Postgraduate Degree (M.Sc./M.A./M.Tech or equivalent) in Cognitive Sciences, Psychology, Applied Psychology, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Electronics, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Informatics and Communication, Operational Research, or an equivalent field, along with relevant project or internship experience in Imaging, Radiomics, Genetics and AI/ML.
• Desirable: UGC NET-JRF qualified candidates in Physics, Psychology, Electronics, IT or a similar subject are preferred.

Age Limit

• The upper age limit is 35 years, as per project norms.
