Gujarat Gyan Sahayak Primary Recruitment 2026: Overview

Samagra Shiksha Gujarat, run by the Gujarat Council of School Education (Gujarat Shala Shiksha Parishad) from its State Project Office in Gandhinagar, is taking online applications for Gyan Sahayak (Primary) in Gujarati-medium schools. These are 11-month contract teaching posts under the state's Gyan Sahayak Yojana (Primary), set up by the Education Department resolution of 10 July 2023 and amended on 3 June 2026.

The main point to understand: this round builds district-wise selection and waiting lists. Filling the form does not promise you a job; schools are allotted from the merit list as district vacancies come up.

Posts and Disciplines

• Lower Primary (Classes 1 to 5): for candidates who have passed the Gujarati-medium TET-1.
• Upper Primary (Classes 6 to 8): subject-wise posts for candidates who have passed the Gujarati-medium TET-2 in that subject.
• Where you could teach: government primary schools under the Education Department, and aided residential primary schools (Ashram Shalas) under the Commissioner of Tribal Development and the Social Justice and Empowerment Department's Scheduled Caste and Developing Castes welfare directorates.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract length: the contract runs for 11 months, not counting vacations, and ends automatically after that. Renewal happens only if the state office says so.
• Pay: a fixed lump-sum honorarium; there is no pay scale or increment.
• One district only: you pick one district in the form, and you can choose it only for the subject in which you cleared TET.
• Separate merit lists: each district prepares separate merit and waiting lists for Classes 1-5 and Classes 6-8.
• Cross-filling: if a district runs short of TET-2 candidates, TET-1 candidates on its list may be offered upper-primary schools, and the other way round.
• Vacancies can change: the government may add or cancel any post, and its decision is final.
• Out-of-state degrees: if your degree is from a university outside Gujarat, the District Primary Education Officer checks the originals before you are appointed.
• False information: wrong or incomplete details cancel your application and can bar you from applying for five years.

Applications are accepted only online at pregyansahayak.ssgujarat.org; forms sent by post, courier or handed in at state or district offices are rejected. Enter the total and obtained marks exactly as your mark sheets show them, or the CGPA if your mark sheet gives only a grade.
