OMC Director (HR) Recruitment 2026: Overview

Odisha Mining Corporation Limited (OMC) is looking for a full-time Director (Human Resources) to sit on its board at the Corporate Office in Bhubaneswar. OMC is the largest State PSU in India's mining sector, a Gold category company that explores, mines and trades iron, chrome, bauxite, manganese and limestone ores. The selection is handled by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB), and the advertisement is issued by the Steel & Mines Department, Government of Odisha. This is a board-level role, so it suits senior HR leaders from government, PSUs or large listed private companies.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Board seat: You become a member of the Board of Directors and report to the Managing Director or CMD.
• Tenure: A full-time contract for five years or until superannuation at 60, whichever comes first. One more five-year term (again capped at 60) can be given on good performance, with approval of the competent authority.
• Seniority level: You should be working at most two levels below the board. In a PSU that usually means a GM or CGM; in a private company, a Vice President or Senior Vice President. A head of a functional department at that level who reports to a functional director or MD can also apply.
• Private sector applicants: Your current or last company must be listed on a stock exchange with a turnover of Rs. 1,000 crore or more.
• Mining experience: Having worked in a mining company or corporation gives you an added advantage.
• Pay protection: If you come from Central or State Government, a CPSE, a State PSU or another government body, your current pay is protected.
• Backing out: If PESB selects you and you then refuse, either after the interview or after the offer, you are barred for two years from board-level posts in any State PSE other than your own. No relaxation request is entertained.
• Medical fitness: Appointment depends on a medical fitness certificate from a State or Central Government medical officer or OMC's own medical officer.
• Interview travel: Outstation candidates called for the interview get economy-class air fare both ways on showing original documents.

Fill the Annexure-I application format, paste a passport-size photograph and add a write-up on your major contributions. Attach the integrity certificate (Annexure-II) and your last five years' APAR/PAR grading (Annexure-III), each in a sealed cover signed by your head of unit or controlling authority.

Government, CPSE and State PSU employees must apply through proper channel: through the cadre controlling authority, the concerned CPSE or SPSE, or the administrative ministry if you already hold a CMD, MD or Director post.
