TISS Project Coordinator Recruitment 2026: Overview

Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), a deemed university funded by the Ministry of Education, is hiring a Project Coordinator for TANDA, a field action project of its Centre for Criminology and Justice, School of Social Work. TANDA has worked since 2011 to bring De-Notified and Nomadic Tribe (NT-DNT) communities into the mainstream through education, health, livelihood and citizenship-entitlement work.

This hire is for the NT-DNT Youth Development Project, which runs across six districts of Maharashtra. Your base is the TISS Mumbai campus, but a large part of the job is coordinating youth fellows spread across those districts. It is a contract role, so it suits a social-sector professional who has already managed community projects in Maharashtra and speaks the local language well.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract term: The first contract is for one year and can be extended up to two years.
• Languages: You need fluent spoken Marathi, Hindi and English, plus good written English.
• Travel: You should be willing to travel across Maharashtra and other states when the work needs it.
• Reservation: The position is unreserved, but reserved-category candidates can still apply.
• Relaxation: TISS may relax the qualification and working conditions based on experience, and may relax age for people already holding a comparable post in a university or research institution.
• Interview costs: No TA/DA is paid for attending the interview.
• Joining: The selected candidate must join immediately.
• Canvassing: Any canvassing leads to disqualification, and TISS will not answer queries about call letters.

• Execute the project implementation plan and its activities
• Develop activity content and identify the resources needed to run it
• Organise training sessions for the project team and youth fellows

• Ensure the project delivers evidence-based quantitative and qualitative results
• Update project work plans and record any changes in activities under the Project Director's guidance
