MbPA Specialist Recruitment 2026: Overview

Mumbai Port Authority (MbPA), a major port under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, needs specialist doctors on contract for its own hospital at Nadkarni Park, Wadala (East), Mumbai. The Medical Department is filling three specialities — Radiology, General Surgery and Medicine — through a walk-in interview. This is a contractual engagement with a fixed consolidated monthly pay, not a regular port job. It suits a postgraduate doctor who wants hospital work in Mumbai without going through a long written-exam process.

Posts and Disciplines

• Specialist (Radiology): handles the hospital's imaging work; open to doctors with a radiology postgraduate degree or diploma.
• Specialist (General Surgery): surgical cover for the hospital, with an extra candidate kept on a select list for later use.
• Specialist (Medicine): physician post for doctors with an MD/DNB in Medicine; the notice marks it for the select list.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Bond-serving doctors welcome: If you still have to serve a state bond, you can apply. MbPA Hospital has approval from the Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER) for bond completion, and its Medical Officer post is recognised for that purpose.
• Experience preferred: At least one year as a Medical Officer in a recognised hospital gives you an edge, but it is a desirable point, not a must.
• Reserved categories: Bring your caste certificate with validity certificate, or a non-creamy layer certificate, if you claim a reserved seat.
• Open till filled: The notice says there is no fixed last date and the posts stay open until they are filled, so later applicants may still be considered.
