PSSCIVE Project Staff Recruitment 2026: Overview

PSS Central Institute of Vocational Education (PSSCIVE) in Shyamla Hills, Bhopal is a constituent unit of the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) under the Ministry of Education. Under Advt 05/2026 it is holding walk-in interviews for project positions: Assistant Professors in two subjects, a Senior Research Associate, a Junior Project Fellow, an Assistant Editor (English) and a D.T.P. Operator. All of them are contract posts tied to projects approved by the DoSEL Project Approval Board and NCERT's Programme Advisory Committee, and every interview runs on the same day at the Bhopal campus.

The mix is unusual: teaching posts for engineers and agriculture postgraduates sit alongside research, editing and publishing roles, so this one notice can suit a PhD holder, a journalism graduate and an experienced DTP operator alike.

Posts and Disciplines

• Assistant Professor shortlisting: your UGC academic score is used only to shortlist you for the interview; the final selection depends only on how you do in the interview.
• Foreign PhD route: a PhD from a university ranked in the world top 500 by QS, THE or ARWU makes you eligible for either Assistant Professor post without NET.

Post-wise Duties

Assistant Professor (Mechanical and Agriculture/Horticulture)

You will support PSSCIVE's vocational education work in your subject. The notice asks for English and Hindi proficiency and computer skills, so expect to write and present material in both languages.

Senior Research Associate

You will work on the research study on the Skill Education System, using tools such as MS Office and SPSS to process data and prepare reports.

Junior Project Fellow

You will help publish the Indian Journal of Vocational Education and the institute's bulletin, which needs strong academic drafting in English.

Assistant Editor (English)

You will edit and finalise textbooks for different job roles, drawing on knowledge of book production, printing and typography, plus online editing tools.

D.T.P. Operator

You will typeset print-ready pages using Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and CorelDRAW, including Unicode and bilingual English-Hindi typesetting, and coordinate with designers, editors and printers.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: the engagement runs up to 31 March 2027, or as the approved project terms allow.
• Purely contractual: there is no increment in pay and no claim to regular employment at PSSCIVE, and the engagement can be ended at any time.
• School-education experience: research, teaching, training, extension or content-development experience must relate to school education, and time spent on an MPhil or PhD does not count as experience.
• Experience proof: for posts paying Rs. 40,000 or more, bring an attested salary slip, bank statement or ITR proving the experience you claim.
• Joining: selected candidates must join immediately, and if you are already employed you need a relieving certificate at joining.
• No travel allowance: no TA/DA is paid for the skill test, the interview or joining.
• Post count: the number of posts may go up or down, and the institute may cancel or change the advertisement.

Application Submission Notes

There is no online form. Bring the filled application form in the prescribed format with a recent passport photo pasted on it, your original documents and one set of self-attested copies to PSSCIVE, Shyamla Hills, Bhopal. Reporting slots are staggered by post through the morning and early afternoon, and the D.T.P. Operator skill test comes before that post's interview. Use a separate form for each post if you are applying for more than one. Writers and designers should also carry samples of their published or creative work.
