PSB Chief Compliance Officer Recruitment 2026: Overview

Punjab & Sind Bank (PSB), a public sector bank owned by the Government of India, is looking for a Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) on a contract basis for professional services. The hiring is run by the bank's Human Resource Development Department at its Head Office in New Delhi, and the person selected will head the bank's entire compliance function.

This is a top-level leadership role, not an entry job. The CCO is the bank's nodal point of contact with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), takes part in the quarterly discussions RBI holds with the bank, and reports compliance risks straight to the Board, the Audit Committee of the Board and the MD & CEO. If you are a senior banker with a long track record in audit, compliance, risk or legal work and hold CAIIB, this opening is built for you.

The notice also gives a route for regional, zonal or business heads: if you have handled control-function responsibilities in business lines for five years or more, the bank treats that as qualifying risk-management experience for this post.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: A fixed contract of at least three years, which the bank may extend at its discretion if your performance is satisfactory.
• Purely contractual: The engagement does not give you any right to regular employment or absorption in the bank. PF, gratuity and pension rules do not apply, and no allowance or benefit beyond the contract terms is paid.
• Pay: There is no fixed pay figure in the notice — the compensation and terms are negotiated based on your suitability.
• Leave: You get 30 days of paid leave per calendar year, but not more than five days at a stretch. Absence beyond 30 days in a contract year is deducted from your pay, and unused leave lapses at the end of each contract year.
• Working hours: Same working hours, weekly offs and holidays as the bank's regular employees.
• Posting: You will preferably sit at the Head Office / Corporate Office in New Delhi, but the bank can post you to any office in India if administrative needs demand it.
• Age rule: The age window is counted including all relaxations, so no extra category relaxation is added on top.
• Serving officers: If you work in a government body, PSU or bank, you must bring a No Objection Certificate from your employer to the interview, and a relieving letter before joining.
• Nationality: Open to Indian citizens and the other categories the notice lists (Nepal, Bhutan, certain Tibetan refugees and migrants of Indian origin), the latter only with a Government of India eligibility certificate.
