National Institute of Technology Rourkela (NIT Rourkela) is hiring Field Assistants for its ANRF-PAIR consortium on sustainable agriculture, health, energy and environment. The assignment supports mining-related research in Odisha, linking fieldwork at mines and nearby industries with laboratory activities. This is a project contract tied to the consortium’s work.

The notice connects the assignment to mine backfilling, dust control and polluted-water treatment. These research areas use mine overburden and industrial waste, explore intelligent dust-control systems for coal mines, and study waste-derived adsorbents for removing pollutants. You would work with the research team across these linked project activities.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Initial appointment: Annexure I describes a one-year appointment, with continuation depending on satisfactory performance. The cover sheet lists a longer overall post tenure; you should confirm the appointment period when an offer is issued.
• Project link: The engagement ends with the ANRF-PAIR project. It does not give you a right to a regular appointment at NIT Rourkela.
• Rules: Your appointment and any continuation will follow the applicable ANRF and institute rules.
• Field travel: You must be ready to visit project and study locations. The assignment involves coordination with both research teams and industry personnel.
• Interview travel: The institute will not reimburse travel for attending the interview.
• Notice inconsistencies: The cover sheet and annexure disagree on the closing day and upper age limit. These discrepancies need clarification from the project contacts; do not assume the more favourable condition applies.
