NIT AP ANRF JRF Recruitment 2026: Overview

National Institute of Technology Andhra Pradesh (NIT Andhra Pradesh) at Tadepalligudem is looking for a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in its Department of Biotechnology. The fellowship sits in a project funded by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) and led by Dr. Nisha Amarnath Jonniya, Assistant Professor and Principal Investigator.

The project works on structure-guided antibody engineering against the Nipah virus, targeting its G and F glycoproteins along with MLCK-driven responses in the cells lining blood vessels. Most of the work is computational — multiscale molecular dynamics (MD) simulations and protein residue network analysis — backed by lab techniques for purifying and characterising proteins. It is a good fit if you have a biotechnology or bioinformatics master's and want to move into a PhD.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: One year at first, extendable up to three years if your performance is satisfactory and ANRF keeps funding the project.
• Six-monthly review: Your continuation is checked every six months, and the post ends with the project.
• PhD route: The selected fellow is encouraged to register for a full-time PhD at NIT Andhra Pradesh, subject to the institute's academic and administrative requirements.
• Immediate joining: The institute expects the selected candidate to join right away.
• No regular-job claim: The position is purely temporary. You get no right to a regular appointment and no staff facilities such as housing, and you cannot take up another regular or part-time job during the fellowship.
• No travel allowance: No TA/DA is paid for attending the interview.
• Queries by email only: Questions about the selection process go to the PI by email; phone calls, visits and queries on eligibility or rule interpretation are not entertained.
