IRCON Apprentice Recruitment 2026: Overview

IRCON International Limited (IRCON), a Navratna public sector company under the Ministry of Railways, is taking on Graduate Apprentices and Technician (Diploma) Apprentices for one year of training under the Apprenticeship Act, 1961. IRCON builds turnkey railway, highway, building and power projects in India and abroad, and its apprentices are placed at project sites and offices across the country.

The standout point of this drive is that there is no interview — IRCON shortlists purely on the marks you scored in your qualifying degree or diploma. Besides the engineering streams, there are seats for HR, Finance, Rajbhasha, CSR, Legal and IT graduates, so it is a good fit for recent pass-outs from commerce, law, social work and Hindi backgrounds too.

Posts and Disciplines

• Graduate Apprentice (Civil, Electrical, S&T): for engineering or technology graduates in the matching stream; S&T stands for Signal and Telecommunication.
• Graduate Apprentice (Human Resource): needs a full-time BBA.
• Graduate Apprentice (Finance): needs a full-time B.Com.
• Graduate Apprentice (Rajbhasha): needs a full-time BA in Hindi.
• Graduate Apprentice (CSR): needs a full-time Bachelor of Social Work (BSW).
• Graduate Apprentice (Legal): needs a full-time LLB.
• Graduate Apprentice (Information Technology): open to full-time B.Sc., BCA, B.E. or B.Tech holders in Computer Science or IT.
• Technician (Diploma) Apprentice (Civil, Electrical): for diploma holders in the matching engineering stream.
• Seat transfers: if a discipline does not get enough eligible candidates, IRCON can move those seats to another discipline. Unfilled reserved seats are handled under Rule 5(1&2) of the Apprenticeship Rules, 1992.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Training period: exactly one year; IRCON will not extend the training after that.
• Posting: you can be sent to any IRCON project or office with a free slot. Right now IRCON has sites in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Assam, Rajasthan and Delhi-NCR.
• No job guarantee: finishing the apprenticeship gives you no claim to a job at IRCON.
• Stay and food: you must arrange your own accommodation and meals; the company provides neither.
• Freshers only: if you have already done an apprenticeship at IRCON or any other organisation, or have one year or more of training or job experience after finishing your studies, you cannot apply.
• Passing year: your qualifying exam must have been passed in 2026, 2025, 2024, or on or after 1 July 2023. Result-awaited, supplementary and back-paper candidates should not apply.
• Stipend payment: part of your stipend is paid by the Government of India through DBT into your Aadhaar-seeded savings bank account, so keep that account active.
• Medical fitness: you must produce a medical fitness certificate before joining, in a format IRCON sends with the offer.
• False claims: any wrong information leads to cancellation of your candidature and can lead to prosecution.

Application Submission Notes

Before you start, register as a "Student" on the NATS portal (mhrdnats.gov.in) and keep your unique registration number ready — the IRCON form asks for it. Then apply online on ircon.org under Careers, HR & Career, Engagement of Apprentices under Apprentices Act, 1961.

Applying online is not the last step. Print the PDF of your submitted form, sign it at the bottom right under the declaration, and post it with self-attested copies of your documents to Manager/HRM, IRCON International Limited, C-4, District Centre, Saket, New Delhi-110017. It must reach the office by 17 November 2026, and the envelope should read "Application for the Engagement of Apprentices as per Apprentices Act 1961 – Advt No. A01/2026".

The shortlist goes up on IRCON's website and call letters come only by email, so use an email ID that will stay valid for at least a year. Any addendum or corrigendum is posted only under HR & Career on ircon.org, and you can send questions to recruitment@ircon.org.
