Instrumentation Limited (IL), a Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Heavy Industry, is hiring Grade C workers for its Palakkad unit in Kerala. This fixed-term recruitment supports the company's control-valve manufacturing work across Production, Quality Control and Plant Maintenance.

Posts and Disciplines

• Production: Turner, Machinist, Fitter, Electrician, Welder and Electronics Mechanic roles cover different parts of valve manufacturing and assembly.
• Quality Control: The Turner role in this department focuses on incoming material and pressure-vessel component inspection.
• Plant Maintenance: The Diesel Mechanic role supports the mechanical upkeep of industrial machinery.

Post-wise Duties

Production trades

The Turner and Machinist work areas involve heavy-duty lathes, CNC turning centres, milling, drilling, slotting and machining centres. Fitting work involves valve assembly, testing and pneumatic tubing.

Electrical and electronics work covers actuator testing, power-cylinder accessories, limit switches and junction-box wiring. The welding work spans hardfacing, heat treatment, joints, flow elements and stainless-steel cladding.

Inspection and maintenance

Quality Control centres on inspection of incoming pressure-vessel parts in the control-valve industry. Plant Maintenance covers preventive and breakdown maintenance, troubleshooting, alignment, lubrication, component replacement and returning machinery to service.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Fixed tenure: You join for an initial two-year term. IL may extend it by a further two years, depending on your performance and the company's needs. The maximum engagement is four years.
• No permanent appointment: These positions do not fill permanent vacancies, and working under this contract gives you no right to regular employment later.
• Surety: IL deducts 5% from monthly pay as a security amount. It is returned without interest after you complete the contract. You lose this amount if you leave or your employment ends before the contract is completed.
• Leave: Casual leave is calculated proportionately against an annual entitlement of 12 days. The notice also provides 2.5 days of earned leave with pay and allows earned-leave encashment at year-end or separation.
• Travel reimbursement: Reimbursement is limited to the shortest-route III AC train fare, subject to the notice's travel-proof conditions. For other transport, the lower of actual spending and the permitted train fare applies.
• Offer acceptance: You normally have one week from receiving the offer to accept it. IL may allow extra time in individual cases.
• Application accuracy: You cannot revise your application after applying. Incorrect information can end your candidature or employment, and requests to change your declared address, category or discipline will not be accepted.
• Communication: IL uses email and Speed Post for recruitment messages. Keep your email active for at least one year and check it regularly.
