IITG Project Engineer and JRF Recruitment 2026: Overview

Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IIT Guwahati) is recruiting project staff in its Department of Electronics and Electrical Engineering. The appointments support a study called An Unmanned Reliable Water Quality Monitoring System for Indian Rivers, led by Principal Investigator Prabir Barooah. You will join the Guwahati project team through a fixed-duration appointment linked to this research work.

Posts and Disciplines

• Assistant Project Engineer: The engineering appointment belongs to the river water-quality monitoring project in the Electronics and Electrical Engineering department. Its contract period differs from the fellowship appointment in the same notice.
• Junior Research Fellow (JRF): The fellowship appointments support the same project and department. The notice groups the engineer and fellowship roles under a shared recruitment reference, so check the designation when identifying the relevant opening.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Appointment duration: The Assistant Project Engineer engagement lasts six months, while the JRF engagement lasts three months. Keep the role-specific duration in mind when considering your availability.
• Accommodation: IIT Guwahati will not provide campus accommodation for selected applicants. You will need to arrange your own place to stay if you take up the appointment.
• Travel expenses: The institute will not pay travel or daily allowances for attending the interview. Plan your visit with this condition in mind.
